PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT aims to support pupils in becoming healthy, safe, independent, responsible adults, able to make informed choices about their well-being and seek support when they require it. It involves all aspects of a pupil’s development – physical, social, and emotional. Pupil’s are supported as they grow and develop and given strategies to help them regulate their emotions and behaviour both inside and outside the classroom. Life skills play a key part of Personal Development as we aim to equip pupil’s with the tools to thrive amongst the challenges of everyday living. Inclusive of their current needs, it provides for learners’ broader development, enabling them to develop and discover their interests and talents. This Area of Learning also includes Relationships and Sex Education and how to use social media and other technology safely.
